Genetics Education for Nursing Professional Groups: Survey of practice and needs of UK educators in delivering a genetics competence framework (2005-2006)

Nurse and midwifery educators were involved in our study to identify the genetics education being delivered across the UK and the areas where support is needed. This work provides a baseline on which to measure change. A Summary of the survey’s findings as well as a Full Report are available. (PDF, 56Kb and 940Kb)

As part of this work we have developed a network of educators who act as a named link for their University. As well as working with us to highlight their institutions’ teaching needs and thus helping to direct the work that we undertake (including resource development), they disseminate information about the our activities to colleagues. Many champion the integration of genetics into nurse and midwifery curricula and training.
